Our Story
Working in the hospitality industry for over 40 years and having set up Cater Control in 1989 and Aqua Restaurant in 1999, it was during the pandemic (with time on his hands) that our principle Dave Murnane revisited his passion for striped fabrics and began researching textiles and cotton mills around the world.
Along with his carpentry skills, he went on to marry the two passions in 2023 and came up with the concept of Decks & Stripes.
What Is Decks & Stripes?
Decks & Stripes is an Irish-based company founded by Dave Murnane.
Based in Swords, Co. Dublin, Dave has developed a range of beechwood deckchairs, directors chairs, stools and even accessories matched with premium natural fabrics. These make a delightful addition to any home and garden. Combining the natural elegance of beechwood and the luxurious feel of 100% cotton fabrics creates a truly charming, vintage aesthetic.
Everything is made and finished in Swords, Co. Dublin and is delivered by An Post (who are next door to the studio) to the four corners of Ireland.
